Geese swim on the pond at Kathie S. Simpkins Park. The City is renovating the pond complex, which includes improvements to the walking path, parking lot, and new pond aeration. Soon, a covered fishing pier and a handicap accessible sidewalk/ramp to the pier will be constructed, which are funded by a partnership between the City and the Missouri Department of Conservation.

The new construction along Pearl Street and Alesia Drive is the installation of 18 street lights. We hope that these lights will provide a safer environment for this area of the city.

Start of the 

Tour de Corn


The Tour de Corn is an annual bicycle ride that began nearly two decades ago. Through the efforts of an incredible group of volunteers, the Tour welcomes more than 1100 riders each June from throughout the United States. The Tour coincides with the Sweetcorn Festival, organized by the Chamber of Commerce.
